About the Artist
Born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, in 1993, Lamar Riddick developed a devoted relationship with Jesus and a love for music. His father and uncle instilled the structure and discipline he needed to remain focused on his academics, extracurricular commitments, and most importantly, his relationship with God. While juggling his spiritual and academic life, Riddick began to explore different genres of music and stumbled upon Christian Hip-Hop.
After graduating high school, Riddick accepted a full academic scholarship and a partial band scholarship to Bethune Cookman University in 2011. While studying for his bachelor’s in music sound recording engineering, Riddick released his first album On Fire, an album that kick-started his journey as a Christian Hip-Hop artist.
Riddick and his wife, Melissa, began their journey as husband and wife in 2016 and then relocated to West Virginia where they currently reside. Riddick now holds the title of program assistant with the West Virginia University School of Music where he has had opportunities to share his music experience with students. Riddick has become a business owner and a thriving music artist, consistently releasing music every couple of months and booking performances throughout the East Coast. Riddick established REVIVE. Collective in 2017 which operates his clothing line “REVIVE.,” a student/graduate internship program, and a monthly music industry workshop.
